Contractors Classroom Refund Policy
Version 2026-10-13
Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]
This Refund Policy applies to purchases of Contractors Classroom exam-preparation access. It is part of the agreement described in our Terms of Use (see Section 13 of the Terms), and our Privacy Policy explains how we handle the information involved. The policy in effect on the day you buy is the one that applies to that purchase.
The short version. The full Policy below controls; this summary is only to help you read it.
- You pay once, with no subscription and no automatic renewal. Access starts as soon as your purchase is processed.
- Because the course is digital content that you can use right away, and you can try the free classroom before you buy, purchases are final once access is granted, except in the situations listed in Section 3 and wherever the law gives you a right to a refund.
- To ask for a refund, email support@contractorsclassroom.com. Please contact us before you ask your bank or card company to reverse a charge.
- Passing or failing an exam, or deciding not to take it, is not a reason for a refund. We do not guarantee any exam result.
1. What You Are Buying
1.1 One-time purchase. The price shown when you buy (currently one price per trade, shown on the pricing page) pays for online access to the classroom for one selected trade, including Law and Business, for the access period shown when you buy, which is six months (183 days) from the date of purchase unless the purchase page says otherwise. It is a one-time payment. It is not a subscription, we do not renew it automatically, and we will not charge you again unless you place a new order yourself.
1.2 Digital content, delivered right away. After your payment is confirmed we create or update your account and send you an email with a link to set your password. Your access starts when the purchase is processed, not when you first log in. The course is online only. There is nothing to ship and nothing to return, and once you have seen the questions, explanations, and other material, we cannot take them back.
1.3 Try before you buy. You can try the free classroom for the trade you are considering on our website before you pay, so you can see the interface and the kind of material you will get.
1.4 Costs we do not control. State licensing fees, exam fees (for example to the CSLB or its exam vendor), fingerprinting, bonds, and insurance are paid to other parties. We cannot refund them and they are not part of our price.
2. No Guarantee of Results
Contractors Classroom is a study aid. We do not promise that you will pass an exam, qualify for a license, or be licensed (see Section 2 of the Terms). Passing, failing, delaying, or deciding not to take an exam, a licensing board's decision about your application, or a change in the exam or in the law is not a reason for a refund.
3. When We Will Refund
We will refund the amount you paid, to the original payment method, in these situations:
3.1 Duplicate or mistaken charge. You were charged more than once for the same order, or you were charged an amount different from the price shown to you.
3.2 Order not delivered or canceled before access. We decline or cancel an order before access is delivered, for example because of a pricing or description mistake or an unavailable trade (Terms 13.1), or we cannot give you working access to the course you bought.
3.3 A problem on our side we cannot fix. You cannot use the course because of a technical problem in our systems, you tell us about it at support@contractorsclassroom.com, and we are unable to fix it within [FIX PERIOD, for example 7 days] after we receive your message.
3.4 We end or stop offering your access without a violation. We discontinue the course you bought, or we end your access for a reason other than your breaking the Terms, before your access period runs out. In that case we will refund [REFUND AMOUNT FOR EARLY END, for example the unused part of the access period].
3.5 Where the law requires. Whenever California or federal law gives you a right to a refund, cancellation, or other remedy, we will honor it, and nothing in this Policy limits it.
4. When We Do Not Refund
Except as stated in Section 3 or required by law, we do not refund: a purchase after access has started because you changed your mind, ran out of time, bought for the wrong reason, or found the course harder or different than you expected; a purchase when the exam or the licensing rules changed; a purchase after your access period has ended; or a purchase on an account that we suspended or ended because of a violation of the Terms (see Terms 7.3 and 12.3). We also cannot refund fees paid to anyone else (Section 1.4).
5. How to Ask for a Refund
5.1 Email support@contractorsclassroom.com with the subject "Refund Request." Please give the email address on your account, the date of purchase, the trade you bought, and the reason. If you were charged twice, include the dates and amounts.
5.2 What happens next. We will reply within [RESPONSE TIME, for example 5 business days] to say whether the request is approved and, if not, why. Approved refunds are returned to the card or other payment method used for the purchase, through our payment processor, Stripe. We cannot refund to a different card or person. Your bank or card issuer controls how quickly the money appears, which is commonly 5 to 10 business days after we approve it.
5.3 Your access after a refund. A refund ends the access that the refunded purchase paid for. Your account and any study progress stay on file under our Privacy Policy, and you can ask us to delete them (Privacy Policy Section 10).
6. Disputes and Chargebacks
Please contact us first at support@contractorsclassroom.com. Most billing problems are fixed faster and with less cost to everyone by email than by a bank dispute. A good-faith question about a charge is never a violation of our Terms.
If you instead file a dispute or chargeback with your bank or card company without contacting us, then while it is pending we may suspend access to the course. We will give the bank and Stripe the records we have about the purchase (for example your account details, the Terms you accepted and when, delivery of access, and the activity records described in the Privacy Policy). If the dispute is decided for you but you received and used the course, we may end your access and, as the Terms (Section 12.3) say, we may recover our reasonable costs of dealing with it to the extent the law allows. If a payment is reversed in bad faith, or fraudulently, we may close the account.
7. Account Bans and Violations
If we end your access because you broke the Terms, for example by sharing your account or copying the material, we do not refund your payment, to the fullest extent California law allows (Terms 7.3 and 12.3). We will tell you why and give you a chance to respond where it is practical (Terms 7.5).
8. No Automatic Renewal
Today we sell only one-time purchases. We do not charge you again, renew your access automatically, or enroll you in a subscription or free trial that turns into a paid plan. Because of this, California's Automatic Renewal Law (Bus. & Prof. Code § 17600 and following) does not apply to our current products. If we ever offer a subscription, an automatic renewal, or a continuing service, we will say so clearly and in plain sight before you pay, get your separate clear consent, send you an acknowledgment that tells you how to cancel, and let you cancel online as easily as you signed up, before any renewal charge.
9. Your Legal Rights
This Policy gives you the refund rights described above in addition to any rights you have under the law. It does not take away any right to a refund, cancellation, or other remedy that California or federal law says cannot be waived. If you paid with a credit or debit card, you may also have rights under your card issuer's rules and federal law, such as the Fair Credit Billing Act.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy. Each version has a version number and effective date at the top. A change applies to purchases made after the new version is posted. It does not take away a refund right that already applied to your purchase.
11. Contact
